U.S. Auto Loan ABS Indices: August 2026

Monthly Overview

KBRA’s Prime U.S. Auto Loan ABS performance remained broadly stable month-over-month (MoM), with annualized net losses and both delinquency measures moving 4 basis points (bps) or less. In the non-prime index, net losses increased 67 bps MoM, while early-stage delinquencies increased 5 bps and late-stage delinquencies fell 9 bps.

On a year-over-year (YoY) basis, prime performance also remained generally steady, with net losses and both delinquency measures moving 4 bps or less. In the non-prime index, net losses and early-stage delinquencies increased 34 bps and 26 bps YoY, respectively, while late-stage delinquencies declined 5 bps.
